Directions and the Area

To get to Ore-a-Tava, drive through Lisdoonvarna heading for Ballyvaughan. About 1km out of town, take the sharp left turn at the water pump where the road appears as a 'T' junction. Ore-a-Tava is the third house on the left. You will find ample and secure parking here.

We are very well positioned as a base when touring the region. Galway City and Shannon Airport are only an hours drive away north and south respectively.

The area is, of course, very well known for the Burren. This 100sq mile area of limestone rock, was shaped by the receding ice of the last Ice Age, upto some 250,000 years ago. The unique 'pavement' effect of the limestone is clearly seen everywhere and can harbour many flora normally found in alpine regions of Europe. The Aran Islands can easily be reached from the coastal village of Doolin some 8kms away.

Championship golf is available on the famous Lahinch links only 15kms away along with a fine beach too. Horse riding, swimming, pitch & putt and the like can also be enjoyed in the area.

A night in Lisdoonvarna is not to be missed either. The famous spa town has many pubs in which to drink and enjoy the traditional Irish music played nightly during the summer months.

I hope we can provide hospitality to you during your stay in North Clare, and please do enquire today for availability.
